Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a distinguished chair in psychology at the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely credited with beginning the current science-based study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victims as witnesses in court contexts. Professor Goodman published widely and has won numerous grants, and has been honored with numerous international and national distinctions. She consults with numerous governments and agencies across the world regarding policies as well as the study of children's victimization within the court system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 57). Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association's three divisions, Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice.
